It’s finally here… the 2025 season has launched, & we just completed our training camp. If you have been following along to this point you know that a good few things have changed & there are many new faces wearing Johnnie red & white. (SAME COLORS, NEW FACES). One value we have talked about a lot is Humility… as good or as talented as we might be, we are far from the finished product. This is just the start. The group crushed the fitness tests & have come in far fitter than I’ve seen a Johnnie team recently. (JOHNNIES FITNESS AS HIGH AS IT’S BEEN). The team has kept its signature brotherhood & has been fun to be around & bonded on & off the training pitch. (ONCE A JOHNNIE, ALWAYS… ). It’s also been really cool & meaningful to have so many Johnnie Soccer alum reach out with support messages, come to talk to the team, & even surprise the guys with some bonus training gear, like Dave Clements & his teammates did. (THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!) KEEP FIGHTING DAVE!
We completed two quality tune-up matches this past weekend, where we played extremely well against the Minnesota Gopher Club team who won their national championship last season. & bounced back from a slow first half vs St Cloud State who were a nationally ranked D2 program last year. We learnt a ton & are very close to ready for opening day this Friday. Hope to see you there or at another game soon!
