Greetings Johnnies!

Greetings Johnnies!

Firstly, thank you so so much for your support with the Go Johnnies Challenge this year! This alum group is special, & your support means a great deal to the program & guys. We talk frequently about the legacy components & the need to bring SJU Soccer back to life / make those who built this program proud. Thank you again!

The team is three games into the MIAC schedule currently & most recently played #24 Gustavus. It was a great game & one we could & perhaps should have won. We created a couple of wide-open chances in the first half, then went on to hit the crossbar & have a few shots cleared off the line… but ultimately, we conceded what amounts to an OG to fall on the day. A disappointing result, but what it tells us is that we are right there & can compete with the tops teams… but again need to gain experience & maturity. Once we do that, this team will begin to challenge for the big prizes.

We get another massive opportunity to prove ourselves this week with games versus Augsburg (#3 in USC poll & #1 in Massey) & St Olaf (#19 in USC poll & #6 in Massey). As someone who has coached teams in that echelon of D3 I can tell you they are very good this year, but that the games will be close, competitive, & we can get points if we are all-in on the day. As a reminder, St Olaf is this Saturday at 12:30pm & a game we are highly encouraging all alumni to attend, tailgate, & provide some rambunctious support.

We appreciate you greatly. GO JOHNNIES!
